Extreme Improv

Extreme Improv is improv comedy mixed with pain – air soft pellet gun shots, shock collars, mouse traps snapping on bare feet, and more. Heck, after you see the show, you may never see Icy-Hot ™ again without thinking about Extreme Improv. And although that description may not at all sound funny, the standing-ovation sell-out audiences would shout it is.

The cast includes many accomplished performers: Robert Bapst, Derek Hagan, Doug Heberle, and creators AJ Schraeder and Bob Beshere. All of them qualify as being very funny and a little crazy (some more than others).

Jennie Stencel, Idiot Box Comedy Club owner and WXII-TV morning traffic reporter indicated, “Extreme Improv is now one of the most popular special events at the Idiot Box.” “We would do it more often, but it’s a heck of a mess to clean up and plus I wanted the performers to heal up between performances,” Stencel added

Ultimate Comic Challenge

The Idiot Box will be hosting the first Ultimate Comic Challenge. You are invited to register and to spread the word to other stand up comics around NC. Comedians will be narrowed down over several rounds until there is one left - The Ultimate Comic. PLUS, the winner will be featured in a special show this Fall at the Idiot Box with the other 3 finalists (which will be a paying gig). PLUS it looks like we have an arrangement with a sister club - which will give the opportunity to do an additional special show (or two) across NC. Why else should you be a part of it

• Bragging rights - even if you don't win you can claim your position as a Finalist, Elite 8, etc.
• MAJOR EXPOSURE - Sponsors have been very interested - this will get written up in the papers, talked about on the radio, and probably covered by TV.
• Quarterfinalists will have featured bios. Plus we will have clips/links on the web
• Did I mention $1000 prize pool?
• They will be kick great shows! The event will take place at our NEW club!
